Investment in urban lighting renovation in Suzhou, Jiangsu exceeds 40 million yuan

This year, the Suzhou Municipal Finance Bureau of Jiangsu Province is expected to spend more than 40 million yuan in special funds for urban lighting, which mainly involves the renovation of urban roads and new village lighting facilities, the renovation of old and new village lighting facilities, lighting energy-saving renovation, landscape lighting facility overhaul and upgrade, street lamp control box renovation, Sanremote terminal equipment renovation and other aspects.
One of the key projects is the urban lighting "Firefly" plan. Since July 2013, the urban lighting "Firefly" project has been officially launched, aiming to solve the public lighting problem of no lights or lack of lights in public areas of Gusu District. As of May 31 this year, a total of 127 applications for street light installation have been received, of which 69 applications and 172 units have met the installation requirements. So far, a total of 117 units have been installed in 39 places.
Overhaul project of palace lantern type street lamp. This year, 463 sets of palace lantern-type street lights on six roads, including Zhuhui Road and Xinshi Road, will be overhauled. The renovation of Laoxin Village plans to install 1,544 sets of street lights, and the light source will be changed from the original 24-watt energy-saving lamps to 15-watt LED light sources. It is expected that after the renovation is completed, the annual electricity saving will be 47,000 yuan. In conjunction with the urban road overhaul plan, arrange the renovation of obsolete lighting facilities on corresponding roads to avoid wasting financial funds due to repeated excavation and construction.
